My Interest and Passion in History

History is my favorite subject since I was in second grade. I like learning about how events came to be and what made thing like that right now. The topic in history I really like learning the most is the entirety of the 20th century. In this century, the two world wars, countless proxy conflicts and threats of nuclear annihilation due to the cold war, countless innovations more than any time period like the plane, television, and computers, and iconic pop culture all fascinates me. History of my country, the Philippines is also my favorite due to having many overlooked events. The only thing I hate about my own country's history is that, it is very infuriating.

Not gonna like, there are topics in history that are very hard to understanding and very infuriating. I mentioned in the paragraph above that Philippines have a very complicated and infruriating history for example: events in the Philippine Revolution like the revolutionaries selling the revolution and Andres Bonifacio's death, the death of General Antonio Luna in the hands of Aguinaldo's mother which is recently known, abuses during the colonization periods of the Spaniards and Americans, the Second World War in the country, and of course the abuses of the Marcos Regime and Martial Law during the 1970s to the 1980s.

Lately, I'm really interested learning ancient Rome, Medieval Europe, and pre-colonial Philippines. Ancient Rome is always one of favorite fields of learning history and not just because I recently been playing ROME 2: TOTAL WAR but ancient Rome is always have been an influencial player in world history due to their vast empire, long-lasting construction, and influences in our languages with speak today like some words in English that came from Latin and Romance languages like Italian, Spanish, and French. Well with Medieval Europe, it is the crossroads between the fall of Rome (Western Roman Empire) and the early modern period. The medieval ages have very interesting events like the Crusades, the Reconquista, the wars between France and England, schisms in Christianity, the Islamic Golden Age, and the Black Death. Pre-colonial Philippines is learning what life, government, and culture in the islands that would be the Philippines before the Spaniards arrived.
